Avril Taylor arrived at Clifford Chambers in 1967 having acquired a job at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre as Secretary to the Production Manager. With the help of the Property Manager, she was able to rent No.37 The Square, where she became acquainted with Mrs. Phyllis Salmon.
After a year, she went back to the legal work she was used to, working as Secretary to the Senior Partner of the firm of Solicitors G. F. Lodder & Son working in conveyancing, and eventually got to know Phyllis Salmon's son Lawrence!
She and Lawrence married in June 1973
